Spieth guide gibs – flat / precision guidance with adjustable play. The first choice for applications where no high forces are likely to occur. The flat, linear guiding elements combine the benefits of plain bearing guidance e.g. high attenuation, with the lowest possible guiding tolerance that can be optimally adjusted during assembly thanks to the Spieth principle. This means that they outperform the usual taper and pressure gibs.

Areas of application

FLW guide gibs are flat linear guiding elements for all areas of precision mechanical engineering and fixture construction. When you use guide gibs you do not need to worry about the time-consuming process of producing your own flat guides and/or taper and pressure gibs and the great deal of effort involved in incorporating them into the required guidance area.


Assembly and adjustments on-site are easy to carry out and settings are made via a central screw. Ideally, these guide gibs should be used where precision guides have to be configured and no high forces are occurring due to the nature of the system.
